Free Kareem!
For Information on upcoming demonstrations to support Kareem and free speech, go here.
I am organizing a protest in London for jailed Egyptian blogger Kareem Amer. Kareem spoke out in favor of liberalism and women's equality on his blog and has since been expelled from his university and imprisoned. His trial, part of the Egyptian government's new crackdown on free speech, is now set to take place on February 22.If you're in London, our protest is tentatively scheduled for Thursday February 15. Please come to support Kareem and the basic principles of liberty and human decency. For more information or to help out, email me at Andrew.Perraut@gmail.com. Protests are also being planned in other major cities around the world.
For more on Kareem, see his Wikipedia page and this site, devoted to his release.
There is also a Facebook group that you can join.
UPDATE: I have started an open Facebook group to help spread information about the London rally. If you're in the area, please join!
UPDATE: Rallies now confirmed in London, New York, DC, Ottawa, Rome, and Bucharest. To participate in these or to organize your own rally, email me!

Hello, could you help me promote this freedom video as much as you can, if you agree to its contents, of course. It’s about Egypt’s real nature and the accelerating imprisonment of freedom fighters in general, and bloggers like Kareem and many others under severe threats from the Egyptian Government.
Many thanks, Ahmad
